ADULT PLAYOFFS AND WINTER ADULT REC HOCKEY REGISTRATION

THE WINTER ADULT REC SEASON WILL START SEPT. 15th AND RUN THRU NOV 17th WITH PLAY OFFS BEING ON NOV 20th. LEAGUE WILL BE LIMITED TO 6 TEAMS WITH 8 SKATERS ON EACH TEAM SO PLEASE SIGN UP NOW TO ENSURE YOU ARE INCLUDED IN THE GOALIE DRAFT. AFTER THE ROSTERS ARE FULL PLAYERS WILL BE ADDED TO A WAITING LIST ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS

We will be having pick-up starting at 7:00 pm on September 1st and 8th for player participating in the next league at no cost. Other players are encouraged to attend and the fee will be $5.00.

A BIG THANKS TO AL BERGAMASCHI, MIKE COGNETTI, JAMIE HOFFMAN, JEFF ALLEN & BRETT CLARK FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK IN BUILDING THE NEW PICNIC AREA IN THE FRONT OF THE ARENA. THIS WILL STOP THE ARENA FROM FLOODING AND PROVIDE A NICE PLACE TO SET-UP A COUPLE OF PICNIC BENCHES AND THE BBQ. ALSO THANKS TO JEFF MORRISON OF FLATLINE FLOORS FOR DONATING THE BACK HOE AND A & L READY MIX FOR SUPPLYING THE CONCRETE AT A REDUCED RATE

Locals compete at College Level

Local players Carley Steichen and Jasper Boyd competed this last weekend at the Western Collegiate Roller Hockey League (WCRHL)opening tournament. Carley Steichen is playing for the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Mustangs as a Freshman and Jasper Boyd is playing for University of Southern California Trojans in his second year. Both players played for the Sonora High School Inline hockey team as well as the local tournament teams.

SONORA HIGH INLINE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT IN SONORA OCT. 26

Sonora High School Inline Hockey Team competed in Tournament in Sonora at High Country Sports Arena on Sunday October 26th. The Varsity team went 1-1-1 in the tournament while the JV struggled with a 0-3-0 record. Bottom line was that both teams did a great job and this tournament gave us a good indication of the things we need to work on. Next tounament is in November in Davis, CA. Practices will continue on Thursdays at 7:00 pm & Sundays at 6:30 pm.

High School hockey to have first tournament on Oct. 26 in Sonora

High School Hockey meeting Oct 15 at 6:30 pm. Next practice Oct 16 at 7:00 pm. Tournament date changed to October 26.

Our first tournament is on Sunday the 26th of October in Sonora. It will have both Varsity and JV playing on the same day. I need a head count from who wants to participate so that we can put the teams together. Please respond to this with an e-mail to msteichen@ovcb.com with your desire to play in this tournament. If you have a conflict with this weekend and still want to participate in other tournaments please respond to this e-mail.

We should have enough players to have at least one varsity team and one JV team. Remember the team is open to 7th - 12th graders with 7th and 8th graders only qualified for JV team.

Youth Rec Hockey League Registrations Open!

Registration is now open for the Youth Rec Hockey Leagues!

Dates for 2008/2009

Fall Season Oct 13 - Dec 19
Winter Season Jan 5 - March 13
Spring Season March 23-May 29

Cost for each season is $80 (8 & under $40). AAU membership is required which is $18 yearly.

We prefer registrations to be completed on line and payment through PayPal. Links are on the left hand tool bar!
